Website Redesign & Redevelopment

Strathallan

Sole designer, supporting developer for a complete redesign and redevelopment for Strathallan’s website. 2015.

A truly suite digital solution

Strathallan’s former website offered a scattered user experience and was difficult to update, requiring substantial amounts of manual input.

As the designer on this project, I sought to provide a user experience as sleek and refined as the Strathallan itself – where dynamic and timely content could live and breathe on delightful display.

The goal was to do it all beautifully.

Homepage Layout

Rife with unique styling and large, beautiful imagery, the homepage serves up both dynamic content (special offers and events) while also promoting exploration into key content areas on the website.

All the social media and event information populate automatically, rendering the site effective and simple to maintain.

Menu Functionality

Nestled tidily within the navigation are two main functions.

The first and most prominent button drops down the menu to book a room.

The second reveals a simple, stylized site menu. It was important to represent these two strong interaction points.

In-House Restaurant

The redeveloped site features pages for Strathallan’s in-house restaurants.

These pages offer beautiful imagery, hours of operation, reservation information, and downloadable menus.

About Us

This page offers a succinct description of the Strathallan team and features a dynamic listing of available positions.

The first week after launching the site, there were nearly two dozen employment inquiries.

Banner Variety

One of the most characteristic features of the site redesign was the dual banner imagery.

Through this playful exploration, I sought to highlight the banner photography by supporting it against the backdrop of a complimentary image.
