Business Card Design

MJS MOTIVATIONs

Sole designer, print coordinator for a business card design for MJS Motivations. 2020.

Passion – turbo-charged.

The owner of MJS Motivations approached me about a unique business card concept on a tight timeline, wanting to debut some branding and a few of his vehicles at an upcoming show.

Mike’s passion for his craft is apparent the moment you meet him–truly a “do it all” master, capable of any repairs, bodywork, paint, and completely custom performance and design for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and anything in-between.

To capture a skillset so monumental, I set about creating a completely unique three-piece business card set.

Concept & Design

I created three cards–one each for auto, diesel, and motorcycle.

Each card features his logo, contact information, a list of his service offerings, a highlight color, and a custom vectorized version of a car/truck/motorcycle engine.

I leveraged a bold palette to make an equally bold statement and attract attention where due.

Card Stock

Printed on heavy card stock, each business card feels weighty and significant in your hand.

The front of the card is a traditional matte, while the back of the card (with the colored pattern of overlapping parts) has a subtle soft-touch coating.

The front of the card features a spot gloss on the black elements in the logo and name, which catches your eye in the right lighting.

These cards are colorful and dynamic, pleasing to both the eye and the fingertips.

The deadline was met successfully and the cards were a hit. Cards were stacked on the seats of the motorcycles and tucked into the crevices in the fairings, for passersby to take at their leisure.

Any shown process work, imagery, and artwork, typography, etc, were created by me. The final design and its implementation are the sole property of MJS Motivation and are shown here for illustrative and non-commercial purposes only.
